Tea has been an integral piece of Gwen’s life, from the day her parents started serving tea at a counter in the family bookstore at the age of 18. Within a year, she had become completely engrossed in it, managing the counter, inventory, and out-selling everyone else.

At 26, she had the opportunity to separate the tea from its bookstore identity, and open Phoenix Pearl Tea as its own entity, with the help of her family. And at 31, she purchased the company in its entirety to carry on her own shoulders.

Tea was a piece of her identity throughout her entire adulthood. Being a super-taster, she can find things in tea that most casual drinkers would never find, making her singularly proficient at blending, tasting, and helping find teas for everyone’s distinct palettes.

Today, she prides herself on the quality and selection of all teas in the company, but particularly masala chai, earl grey, and smoked teas. No matter the customer’s needs, Gwen will find their tea.
